Gotland is Sweden's largest island and is famous for its vertical sea-rock formations (sea-stacks) and its medieval capital, Visby. The walled city of Visby is picturesque and straight out of the middle ages with its well preserved medieval architecture. We were in for a treat arriving as we did during Medieval Week! We were transported to the middles ages - folks were serious in dressing in medieval costumes; there were markets, tents, concerts, crafts, jousting ... we were swept up in the gaiety!
